Superfoods have been around for years and it’s about time we cottoned on to the amazing benefits of them & how we can be healthier versions of ourselves. Jump on board with these delights & improve your health. Here are just a few you can add to your diet.

Goji berries – add to your salads, protein balls or just snack on them (nicely mixed with walnuts) They've been called the most nutritionally dense food on Earth, and they taste something like salty raisins. They contain more vitamin C than oranges, more beta carotene than carrots and more iron than steak. Goji has been used medicinally in China for centuries to improve blood circulation, strengthen the limbs, improve eyesight, protect the liver, increase libido and boost immune function.

Kiwi Fruit – eat fresh, put them in a fruit salad or jazz up your smoothies!

This fury little fruit is naturally high in Vitamin C and Vitamin K, vitamins that promote healthy skin, improved immune system performance and cardiovascular health. Kiwi Fruit is also a great source of fibre, which aids in digestive health (bowel movements included)

Chia Seeds – add to your smoothies, protein balls, porridge or have a spoonful each morning to help you with being ‘regular’. They are especially high in Omega-3 fatty acids, they are most well known for helping to reduce food cravings due to their high soluble fibre content. (good for bowel movement too)

Raw Cacao Powder – put in your smoothies, protein balls, healthy cakes, hot chocolate or make your own chocolate! Cacao is the happy feel good food. It can improve your memory, increase your bliss, reduce heart disease, shed fat, boost immunity, and create loads of energy. CACAO is derived from unroasted cacao beans which helps to preserve its nutritional value. (cocao is cooked on high temps which therefore decreases the goodness of its raw state) Cacao contains not only antioxidants, but is also packed with potassium, and calcium and magnesium.

Fresh Ginger – add to your juices, lemon ginger tea, stir-frys, soups.

Ginger has a long history of medicinal use that dates back thousands of years. It contains gingerol, which gives ginger its flavour. Gingerol helps protect against cancer, particularly bowel cancer, as well as boosting immune function and helping to fight infection in our bodies. Over load on it when you’re feeling a bit fluey.
